Flash Fiction: President Blood

Even the Secret Service can't make you immune to the *bite*. Or save you from the *hunt*. No wall is high enough, no whole deep enough. Especially when we can walk through it all.

Nefarious did the deed. Nefarious made it happen. It was worth dying again. Losing him for our glorious cause.

And now our President pledges his allegiance in a whole new way. The blood and the Covenant are the constitution today. And tomorrow, all the world will bleed for us. For there are many ways to bring Eternal Dark to the land. And even more missiles.

Bullet Proof Jude

"I'm praying to die. Can I cleanse my orphan sin? And save my soul tonight - when I don't believe. I don't believe. In a God of love. I won't deceive. I don't conceive at all. I don't believe. I don't believe. In a God above. I don't believe. I won't recive no more." --WASP

"I know I was meant for much things. No time to sleep so I lost all my dreams. Before I do nothing...I spend my life here and deal with the pain. The choice has been made, you all will be saved." --Metal Church

Bullet Proof Jude

It's Amen apathy
When we simply agree and never question.
God.

The price of a thousand words
Was Lamb Slain.
And if He died for me--
Where is my peace?

Not saved by grace,
Decimated by it.
In a future bleak
Man loves to bare.
We all need a cross.
Got to get mine too.

Then I've got to get You out of me...
I've got to get You out...

Keeper of lost causes,
Bullet proof too,
Jude, where were you when it all went down?
Drive by Bible shootings.
Finger pointing pulled the trigger
Killed my Spirit with brimstone fear.

One nation under God...or ELSE!
Takes us to Punishing Heaven.

When You killed Dad
(My Dad wouldn't do that)
To my last extremity,
I called for You.
And then I cried.
Lost causes.

Should of been someone else.
-Me-
Lost causes.

There's no love here.
But don't wanna see the other side.
I wanna be somewhere else.
And never look back.

Blue Rabbits

"By the way, you're uninvited." -- Alanis Morissette

More original work soon, I'm currently working on my next Blue Rabbit Chronicles for the APA. But don't you be blue, we are currently recruiting new members. Email me if you're interested.

I have decided that I will again be focusing on the poetry aspect of my writing. It's what I do best, more importantly it's what I enjoy most. The audioblogs are also fun...expect more.

Read

"Shut up when I'm talking to you. Shut up! Shut up!" -- Linkin Park

Reading Maps in a Mirror: The Short Fiction of Orson Scott Card. It's not only wonderful, it's 675 pages big. And that's important, because you never know when someone's going to p#ss you off!

:) Just kidding.

So, tell me dark ones....what are you reading?

Mistersleepless: How It Works.

I've read this elsewhere but it's a great little piece. How it works and where Warren's ideas come from. I'd say they come from hell...:) Missed this piece from my Warren Ellis Special in the APA but definitely one for Volume Two.

Head Sprung

Head Sprung
This is love like a gun.
I love the negativity
It's in my brain.
Like a cancer.
Soul searching left me alone.
Leave me
Here by the dust.
It will be my grave.
Look about the room.
The painting on the wall.
Beautiful padding...
The terror of it all.
And there's nothing left to break.

For the World to See

Did you ever think you'd end up...
Here?
In the midst of the greatest war that ever
Wasn't.
I won't deny.
Yes, I know what kind of dream
-I- am.

A prayer:
Thank you for your love.
Thank you for your Passion.
Strangles me in a killer's fashion.
Even today.

-You- will never belong to me.

Come crashing round.
The value of the past is knowing
When to trim the fat.
You must lead the way
Out of
This future defective.

I will lift my hands.
"So strange", she said to me.
But I've got mouths to feed
Bills to pay
And You to resent.
My cross is ready.

How we love the indignation.
My Psalm reads, "Die".
The end will get you.
I will get you.
There's something dangerous.
I'm falling apart.
On the inside.

Every time I try to stop you.
Every time I try to love you.
Every time I try to make you.
Every time I try.

Addicted to your promises.
One truth.
One way.
Love growing cold.
I should of known.

A bit obsessed.
Muse rumblings.
I'm cutting the Rabbit
And the *Hole* into my own arm
For the world to see.
I'm falling apart.
On the inside.
My cross is ready.
For the world to see.

How do I understand the poetry?
Doesn't matter all that much to me.

Breath

Death can never bend my will.
The poetry keeps me alive.
It gives me breath.
My blood is ink.
But when I do
Go
-Know this-
The fire in my eyes will burn long after.

Create

Glimmer.
Glimmer.
Shine.

If Heaven was in the palm of your hand--
Would you feel it...
Or simply crush it?

Ashes to...
The Creation of all poets--
The Creation of this poet
Was the death of one man.
The soul of our family was ripped away.
Nobody cared.

The world can't be reduced to sound bites...
If it could I would write about everything.
All of my feelings made whole.
Ashes to...

I won't fade away.
Again.
Thinking,
Longing,
That memory of flames
Got me burnt.

Open wide Firefly.
It's not the love you give...
It's the bullet you take.

Mouthful of dust...
Every bit of life leads to death.
And the creation of another poet's
Sad song.
Ashes to...

Glimmer
Glimmer
Shine.
I can't see you.

Melvins Show

As you know, I went to see the Melvins last night. I'm not much of a music reviewer I can only say this: what an awesome, awesome, band. Check 'em out it's worth your time. Three guys doin' it cus they love it, not for some corporate suits. The cover of I Want to Hold Your Hand stole the show...never knew you could mosh to that song. But oh, how enlightened I am now!

Empty Bottle

She found her meaning of life
And her Savior
At the bottom of every bottle.
In the middle of every drink.

Bloody,
Bloody,
Mary.

Every night--
Smoky bars,
No love,
Two packs of Reds.

It's the not-so-secret-formula
For loneliness
And tears.

Last call reminds
"You are this life"
The real meaning.
Then it all comes down to
The flame that's run out
Because every bottle is an empty bottle.

Template Changes Update

It seems that BLOGGER doesn't automatically turn on old posts once you install commenting?? So, I have to do it manually for a couple of hundred posts if I want it on...fun, fun! However, according to BLOGGER's online help, there is a bug in BLOGGER right now and it will only go back 300 posts. So half my blog will not have commenting until that is fixed. It also means I can't edit that part of my BLOG if I want to make changes. Hopefully, they'll get this all fixed.

But, hey, at least I figured it all out on my own.

But I still can't get my new commenting to work on any post written in April 2004 or before. Anyone have any ideas? I think it may have something to do with my template.

Flash Fiction: Dinner

I haven't forgotten about the flash fiction. Here's a small story that I got by combining a paragraph from a Katie Macallister story and an idea of my own. Another incomplete idea teetering on the edge of my cliff mind.

"Come to dinner please," Joy said, exuding a warmth and compassion that slipped past all my guards. She really is beautiful. I hesitated, then took the invitation, hoping to touch the suppleness of her hand. Dreaming of the suppleness of her breasts.

Joy's smile grew wider. Did she know what I was thinking or was she as innocent as she seemed? No matter, I had a meal to attend. And I had never been to dinner with the Devil before.

Tonight the unfinished business of our lives would be reckoned with. With a finger snap, I cast a spell and sent Joy back to the fire below. Back to her master in a billow of smoke. Like the Cheshire cat, the last thing to disappear were her pearly whites.

Rome Wasn't Burnt In A Day

While I'm on a political kick. Here's one more for you: Check out the link to Joe Scarborough's new book Rome Wasn't Burnt In A Day. Old Joe and I don't see eye to eye on most domestic issues but this is one where we do. Our government is bankrupting our nation with everything from entitlements to pork. Doing nothing to reign in their own spending habits in this time of war. The I.M.F. has actually warned the U.S. that we're headed for insolvency. Our national debit is growing by 3 million dollars an hour. But who cares, in this day and age, the government believes tax money is theirs not ours. Someone once said, "Democracy ceases to exist when the government can buy off the people with their own money." That statement was said about Rome during it's decline. Are we too in decline? Certainly, we are drowning in red ink.

National Debt Clock.

More Politics

I am one of the most fiscally conservative/socially moderate voters you've ever met. I'm not a Repulican because quite honestly...the Republicans aren't Republican anymore. However, to all my conservative friends I say this:

Health coverage for all Americans isn't socialism. It's what is right.

Politics

Politics:

The truth is such--We have two big government parties who love to look out for special interests and not you. With an eroding middle class, they'd rather give another job to NAFTA than to do the right thing. All the while, they watch as your kids get priced out of a college education...but not their kids. The only thing rising faster that the price of education in this nation is healthcare. When you get sick, you can die and they'll just find another fool willing to vote for the mantra and the facade. Believe it. This was not what the founding fathers intended but it's what we got. And it isn't going to change. No matter who you vote for.

Tears Fall in Russia

I watch the television.

I see again...the destruction, the killing of innocents. Children who have nothing to do with a war must again pay the price for the hatred of men and that slimy thing called religion. There is no negotiation with radicals.

Over three hundred and fifty dead this time...

Mostly children.

How would you feel if that was your baby who died? Do Americans take terrorist attacks in foreign lands personally? We should. When will our world condemn this disgusting act?

The thoughts bring a tear to my eye. A great sadness. Why does God let this happen again and again? Why? But my sadness is nothing compared to the mourning of those parents. And that town.

Tears fall in Russia and there is nothing I can do about it.

More Melvins

Heard the Melvin's new album yesterday. Really good. It's metal and more. The highlight of the album is their cover of Kiss's Going Blind. Great rendition of it...in a slow metal grind way. And here I go getting back to talking about cover bands again. Months ago I promised you a post about my imaginary band Straight Jacket Sister and the cover songs we'd do. It's still coming...I may turn it into an Audiozine.

I will be at the Melvin's show next week. Can't wait. And I have two of their CD's sitting in the kitchen...on loan from a friend. Time to go jam because though it's Labor day elsewhere, today is a work day for me. Don't feel too bad...it's all OT for me plus I get paid for the holiday.

Also, have a post in the back of my mind about cell phones and the future of music.

Service Pack From Hell

Once again I'm trying to install a major upgrade to Windows that tells me I don't have a legitimate copy of Windows XP. The thing is...I do. In fact, when I tried to install Service Pack One I received the same error message several times over a few months and then one day...like magic...it was installed. It asks me for my "authentification" number which I don't have and then tells me I "may" have a pirated copy of Windows.

Of course, in my mind, I either have a pirated copy or I don't. Geez...there I go using common sense again.

Bill Gates, if you're reading, I just want you to know this: I hate your technology, your automatic updates that never work, your virus prone software, and most of all your net framework.

I've spent countless hours trying to update Windows XP since I got it so that I don't get a virus (several of which I have gotten mind you). No wonder, people pay my friend Dennis to do this crap for them. Maybe I should too.

Don't call this one Service Pack Two...Call it The Service Pack from Hell.

Depeche Mode

I'm not a big Depeche Mode fan but their talent and influence on other artists is unmistakable. Used Launch to watch Manson's cover of Personal Jesus. Quite excellent especially when the image JFK flashes while he's singing the chorus.

My favorite Depeche Mode song is one that the video is also available on Launch.. If I were in a band, I'd cover it...loud and proud:

Never Let Me Down Again by Depeche Mode

I'm taking a ride
With my best friend
I hope he never lets me down again
He knows where he's taking me
Taking me where I want to be
I'm taking a ride
With my best friend

We're flying high
We're watching the world pass us by
Never want to come down
Never want to put my feet back down
On the ground

I'm taking a ride
With my best friend
I hope he never lets me down again
Promises me I'm as safe as houses
As long as I remember who's wearing the trousers
I hope he never lets me down again

Never let me down

See the stars they're shining bright
Everything's alright tonight.

Fahrenheit 9-11

Watched Fahrenheit 9-11 today. It was a well done movie and though I don't agree with all of Moore's opinions--one thing is clear. This administration is dirty and clearly only fights their war on terrorism where profits and oil are potentially the highest.

Makes me wonder: "Who's looking out for me and my family?"

In the meanwhile, Osama waits....

And plans...

Black Seasons

Don't let the fire in your stomach
Be put out by the water of your pain--
Or the distraction of the hose.

You -can- do it.
Just slay the lie.
That dragon will die,
Holding up his eyes.

This-the first of many--
Black Seasons--
But a test.
Winter storms will not freeze you in place.

In time, the step out of the light
Will become easier.
Look to yourself,
While the world looks away.

Know that,
We will all transcend.
And discover the truth.

-Whatever-that may be.
Your faith is your own.
And so are you.

No Sleep

No Sleep.

Even before the funeral,
Dead to me
You were.
A pale faced zombie casting
Careless religious stones...
Letting me know,
My guilt.

There are no angels.
The truth and the light
Hang there with you.
In my mind.
I can not shake your noose.
It's why I don't sleep...
God, my guilt!

And in this life,
I crucified myself.
Again and again.
Still...
I forged a sea
Simply to be...
A man.
Living lost - but fighting
Becoming another memory.
-I- Pushed on.

Knowing
All the vampires smile
When the last blood
Is yours.

And time....
We are our own Leaders,
Impetus,
And God.
Don't fool yourself.

I push on...
Me and my guilt.
Don't want to be
Another memory.
It's why I don't sleep.

That may be the only compass
I ever need.
