Saturday, October 30, 2004Do it Yourself HTML
Still need to get a good HTML book but I am learning it slowly but surely. Fixed the post page function I believe, so GOOGLE should fully index my site by individual posts now rather than a whole month's page.
Essentially, GOOGLE was only archiving posts that had user comments on them. With a little tweaking, figured out there was a piece of code missing from my non-commented posts. Now, in a couple of weeks, should know if it worked for sure. But GOOGLE does seem to crawl me twice a week. So maybe sooner. Who knows maybe I can learn this programming type thing. -posted by Nobius 1:22 PM # Comments (2) Friday, October 29, 2004MP3 tags and BLOGGER
I need to know how to create HTML tags for my Audio Posts so that GOOGLE can crawl the actual MP3 and not just the post. Is this possible? I essentially want GOOGLE to archive the MP3 as "spoken word poetry" or "spoken word artist".

Perfect Machines
Even Love knows Every thing dies. Automaton truth Amongst man made lies. How can I be lonely here With all the Perfect Machines? Who never think. A melting mirror means You don't see you the way you really are. The way you were meant to be. -So beautiful- Now so cold. Don't turn out your light. Suicide is easy When you're not thinking about the end. And if Sleeping Beauty knew truth She'd of chose to sleep forever. Waking up wounded isn't easy. The world is on fire. It's all your fault! I'm looking for my peace but Death clings to us like scent. A passion. Man loves to die. Perfect Machines made The Grave Side My side. I only hope I'll know When to leave the stage. -posted by Nobius 1:12 AM # Comments (2) Thursday, October 28, 2004Even more Misc
More writing soon. Just finished my next BRC so if you ain't in the APA, you ain't seeing my new stuff yet. LOL.
Just downloaded some neat ebooks here: The B.O.M.B. Really looking forward to the Virtual Assistant book. I'm about to go read quite possibly the best short fiction story ever written. Orson Scott Card's A Cross Country Road Trip To Kill Richard Nixon. This story is going to make it into another APA project of mine. I'm looking for a copy of Warren Ellis's BAD SIGNAL that contains a script of Sherlock Holmes and Watson meeting for the first time. If anyone has it or can find it, I'd be greatly in your debt. -posted by Nobius 11:25 PM # Comments (0) Broken Faith

Just a few more days until the election. This time next week, we will be in the midst of another presidential recount. The validity of the election process has been destroyed by both of our big government political machines (parties). Don't believe me....Kerry said it himself, "10,000 lawyers are already waiting." Just remember, when it comes to Washington, no one is looking out for you. -posted by Nobius 9:10 AM # Comments (0) Wednesday, October 27, 2004Tuesday, October 26, 2004Fallen Angel
I havent read it yet but Fallen Angel sounds like a good story from an incredible writer. Check out this link to learn more about it and the man Peter David.

So, I read another Card short story in which a man's television can never be turned off.
Ever. It's the law. Government programming. That's a hell of a problem. And a hell of a concept, may be one I can use. And in other "damn, why didn't I think of that" news...check out Think Geek. Just added another artist very different from my normal genres to the Misery Signal. Meet Hoyt Axton writer of the ever classic Jealous Man. "You got the knife. I got the gun. Come on boy we're gonna have a little fun." -posted by Nobius 1:16 PM # Comments (4) Tuesday, October 19, 2004Cyberpunk
Read a great Cyperpunk story from Orson Scott Card last night called The Dogwalker. I've always loved the genre. But why are all the stories so damn hard to understand?

I'm looking for a copy of a Teen Titans fan fiction book called, "The Stacked Deck". It was written by the Titan Talk A.P.A.
I've scoured the Titans boards, etc and had no luck. Does anyone have any ideas. I once heard it is the longest piece of fan fiction ever written. And I want to read it. -posted by Nobius 11:53 PM # Comments (2) Sensitivity
Oh joy of joys, I have a mandatory Sensitivity seminar at work. It's nothing personal, we all do. I should be sensitive to every culture, race, and sex. Just like everyone is to me. And at the end of it, I hear we'll all give each other one big hug! :)
Gag me please. I want to know who's sensitive to me? Oh that's right, I don't count. I'm just a stupid angry white man. And we are all Hitler. I just want to be left alone. -posted by Nobius 11:42 PM # Comments (6) Tuesday, October 12, 2004Dance
I once danced with a girl so beautiful that only the Gods could behold her without falling in love. And even then...
She was the dream that every man dreams. Long chestnut hair, supple skin, big brown eyes, perfectly formed hips, and a mouth for pleasure. So fair and comely. So sweet and lovely. Time passed in rain and night. It was a waltz that could not go on forever. I pulled her so close. Held her so tight. As if she could feel, the whole in my heart and not just the beating of my chest. When the music stopped, her lips uttered an end of an epoch. The world stopped. She said, "I have a secret Nobius. Dearest Nobi. My real name is Mother. Don't let your star fall baby. You'll always shine. They just don't know. Don't let it..." Her voice was satin. In a faint whisper I heard the last word, "Fall." Then there was only me... And the rain... -posted by Nobius 1:49 PM # Comments (0) Sunday, October 10, 2004MindMind When you read my work, are you reading my mind? Or is it someone else? A poem by Orson Scott Card: Don't You Remember the End of the World?
I'm trying to figure out if there is any form this guy can't write beautifully. Also going to have to get his first poetry collection: An Open Book. -posted by Nobius 1:26 PM # Comments (2) Saturday, October 09, 2004Accoustic Soil
Redefine accoustic by Soil. Check it out in e-card format then download it from the site.
It's been a year since I first heard this song. I still can't get the words out of my head. And I can't help but wonder, is the song about God or someone else? Redefine by Soil First sight Turns me around again Brings me face to face with my sin I've got it, always had it A reason to look within now TAKE FLIGHT To your sun again Burns the sin straight from my hands I've got it, always had it A reason to live within now Every time I fall You catch me And every time I lose control You help me, you save me And every time I lose myself You find me, redefine me MY GOD How stained my hands have been Makes me sick from inside out again I've got it, always had it A reason to look within now STAND CLOSE To my side again Never stuck a knife in my back, friend I've got it, always had it A reason to live within now Somebody to make me feel whole again (better) Somebody to make me want to love again (my life gets better) Somebody to make me see the sun again (my life gets better) Somebody to hold me, hold me Until this life feels better Every time I fall And every time I lose control You help me, you save me And every time I lose myself You find me, redefine me And every time I hate myself You love me, forgive me And every time I lose myself You find me, redefine me. -posted by Nobius 11:46 PM # Comments (0) Friday, October 08, 2004Quickie

Ready
I was ready for the night. Ready for the pain. I was ready for the grave. Ready to die. But I'll never be ready for You. When the tunnel comes, Avoid the light. A Void of light. You won't judge me I'll keep runnin'. -posted by Nobius 1:21 AM # Comments (2) Friday, October 01, 2004Work
Not sure how much I'll be writing over the next several days. Today was the first of many twelve hour days as I both learn my new job and fill in for one of my partners who is on vacation. I'm beat. My wife went back to work this week and since my shift hasn't changed yet...we are working opposites. Better tell her I miss her.
I've got a number of really good ideas though and some of them will see fruition soon. One is a Flash Fiction piece about a vampire who keeps trying to bite the same man. Only that man never dies. Another piece is brewing about "the greatest Dragon that ever lived is a man." There will be more poetry and audio posts as well. I love doing audio. I'm trying to figure out why my mind becomes so creative when I am this tired. Wish I had the time to write all the words. Let me leave you with this short piece and then good night. Her The tears of Tigers and Men Fall And Weep When we kill the habitat And Poison the World. Never thinking about consequence. Her only dream was to Take flowers home to Mommy. Field lilies and sunshine. To see that smiling face. Instead she packs heat And pops the perverts Praying there's life to live beyond today If she can make it home before dark. Neighborhood battleground. No place to live. Unequal education, Housing, Opportunity, Justice. Fall And Weep For her only dream And the poison we left. Never thinking about consequence. -posted by Nobius 1:30 AM # Comments (2) |
