Geopolitics is about memory.
The United states is still the world's largest manufacturing base at about $2.8 trillion per year. This larger than China's and Japan's output combined. U.S. oil production is about 85% of Saudi Arabia's, the world's largest producer. While we are second on the natural gas front, Russia being the first. Facts taken from: ______________________________________________ Need to work on an essay on why I believe independent artists, publishing companies, etc. can coexist with mainstream conglomerates like Amazon, Lulu, and Random House, etc. Some examples: The Melvins, ECW Press, Vertigo Comics (imprint from a conglomerate), etc. -posted by Nobius 9:51 AM # Comments (0) Thursday, April 29, 2010Head Notes 4/29/10 10:29 a.m.
I once read a poet in the zine Abbey that mentioned she memorizes a poem everyday. I need to try that. But probably need to go for one a week. :)
Today, I'm thinking about different sales channels with the same or different products. Different avenues. I need to grow Calliope in all it's forms -posted by Nobius 10:32 AM # Comments (1) Index Librorum Prohibitorum
Private Library: Index Librorum Prohbitorum.
From Private Library: For a little over 400 years--from 1559 to 1966--the Roman Catholic Church proscribed what could and could not be read by the Catholic faithful in a series of lists of prohibited books, the infamous Index Librorum Prohibitorum. -posted by Nobius 10:23 AM # Comments (0) Wednesday, April 28, 2010Mood Music: Beautiful ThievesCertainly, to part of my new Misery Signal posts at Calliope Nerve. Is it time to rid Calliope Nerve of the free e-book format? Or limit it to a certain length of time? Revenue generation is needed to grow the business.
Medicate would make a strong title to a book. Word snips in my head: We get to begin again When we run this night. Take another beautiful life. -posted by Nobius 11:32 PM # Comments (0) An online catalog of catalogs

"…part of comics’ gift is in the pace of reaction. They sit between music and books in terms of the speed in which contemporaneous works can be brought to market or otherwise disseminated. As Paul Gravett and Peter Stanley said, more than twenty years ago, about the new photocopier technology and the emergence of an enabled and mobile small press: comics are fast fiction…" --Warren Ellis

So, honey how was your day?
Well other than my broke worthless no health insurance loser ass is out of bipolar meds again, I only had ten voices in my head instead of twenty. A new record! My day was fucking phenomenal. A real beamer. I never thought it could get this damn good. In fact, since we have kids I'll wait at least one more day before I jump off the bridge or swallow all the sleeping pills. Again. -posted by Nobius 8:29 PM # Comments (0) Friday, April 16, 2010FREE SHIPPING AT LULU

Appearing on PBS’s “the Charlie Rose Show” Monday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said “in the scheme of things I think it is fair to look at a value added tax as well,” and described the proposal as “on the table.”
