The Cult is the fansite of the former diesel mechanic turned writer Chuck Palahniuk. Chuck's books include Fight Club, Invisible Monsters, and Lullaby. Themes of his work range from mass suicide, millitant gay-rights activism, fetal brain harvesting, to religous martydom. It was Chuck who wrote "The only difference between suicide and martyrdom is press coverage."
